Letter from the City of Phoenix…
I apologize for the delay in this pavement work being completed according to the original schedule, but sometimes the schedules need to be adjusted due to weather delays, utility work, other construction in the area, etc., but this area has NOT been removed from the schedule at this time.
APS was just working in this area, which may have involved pavement cuts. We try to accommodate other work in the right-of-way and allow it to be completed before our mill and overlay projects, so we can avoid cuts to new asphalt where possible. As of yesterday, the APS work was completed. Our pavement contractor needed to adjust the schedule to allow for some additional preparation work to be completed in the quarter section. This will give us a better final product.
The mill and overlay are now slated for the latter half of July. This change in the schedule is only a delay and not a removal from the program. Please know that schedules are subject to change at any time based on unforeseen circumstances.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any additional concerns or questions.
Thank you,
Laura Farrell
